Example of sub-recipes

The aim is to produce jam:

Jam
To do this, the jam itself must first be mixed and cooked from a certain amount of a type of fruit with a quantity of sugar and possibly additives. This is the jam recipe class.
There are individual recipes for this:
  • Strawberry jam
  • Raspberry jam
  • Blueberry jam
Here the term recipe still has the familiar meaning from the home cookery book.
Glass
The finished jam must then be bottled. Various jars with different capacities are available for this purpose. The appropriate label must of course be positioned in the right place. This data is managed in the jar recipe class.
The following individual sizes are available:
  • Standard glass (250 ml)
  • Family glass (400 ml)
  • Hotel breakfast (20ml)
Packaging
The jars are then packed in a box for despatch. Depending on the size of the box, different numbers of jars fit inside. The recipe class packaging is used here.
The following individual boxes can be packed:
  • Standard 3x4
  • Standard large 4x5
  • Family 3x4
  • Hotel 5x6
This type of recipe is often called a format - referring to the size of the box.
