Trends

The Trends system module enables the chronological recording of process values (trends) in order to display and analyse them in a curve diagram (TrendChart), for example.

The PLC records the measured values from the machine's sensors.

The PLC transmits the requested data to the Trends system module.

Trends system module

The system module records the recorded data on a storage medium (RAM or hard disk). The data is either saved in a ring buffer of a specific size, whereby older data is replaced by newer data, in a file of unlimited size or in several consecutive files. Successive files are created automatically when they reach a specified size, when a trigger initiates their creation or at specific intervals. Before recording, the data can be pre-treated using hysteresis and filters.

User interface

The trend data is forwarded to the user interface so that it can be displayed by the "TrendChart" control element, for example. The "TrendChart" can display historical data (pause button) or current incoming data.
