Sampling time (variables)

Determines how often the communication component returns changed values of process variables in this group to the variable server. If the sampling time is set shorter than the cycle time of the communication component, the data is returned in the cycle of the communication component (as the maximum change can occur in the cycle of the OPC server). However, the setting makes sense if the sampling time is a multiple of the cycle time of the communication component, especially if a fast display is not required in the application. In this case, changed values from the communication component are reported back to the variable server in the set sampling time. This leads to a reduced data volume between the communication component and the variable server.
