If this parameter is activated, all alarms of this alarm class are logged on a line printer. The printer interface is set via the configuration dialogue of the alarm server.
Not all printers support line-by-line printing, i.e. instead of a line feed, a page break is automatically triggered after each logged alarm.
A simple test can be carried out to check whether the printer supports line-by-line logging. The following entries must be made in the DOS prompt:
Copy con lpt1 A test text Ctrl+Z
If the line A test text is printed automatically after the entries without a form feed being triggered, the printer supports line printing.
