Hysteresis

Noise suppression in the measured value is possible via the hysteresis.

After a limit has been exceeded for the first time, the corresponding bit is set in the output variable. The hysteresis defines the value that the monitoring variable can fall below the limit (e.g. due to noise or interference) before the corresponding bit is reset.

The graph above shows the typical course of a noisy, linearly increasing signal. After the limit has been exceeded for the first time, the value falls below the limit again. The hysteresis suppresses the resetting of the bits in the output variable and thus prevents the typical flickering of the output bit in the limit range.

Either a constant value or the name of a variable can be specified for the hysteresis. If a variable is specified, the value of the variable is used. This makes it possible to dynamise the hysteresis at runtime.
