Access path

The parameter has different meanings depending on which communication channel (OPC or OPC UA) is used to communicate the variable.

OPC

In the OPC specification, the access path is an optional parameter and defines the data path between the OPC server and the PLC. The access path parameter specifies this access path. The EASY UI Designer variable server only passes the parameter value to the OPC server.

OPC UA

The namespace is a mandatory parameter in the OPC UA specification. It is required for the complete addressing of a variable.

This namespace can be entered in the Access path parameter for each variable individually and/or as a blanket entry for all variables of the communication channel in the Default access pathparameter.
