Event
Events describe the actual content of the log files. The data to be recorded is determined via the definition of an event. The central component of the event is the log text and the associated information (e.g. variable values).
Events from system categories(Alarms, Recipes, Trends, UserAdministration, Variables) are assigned to specific events that occur in the corresponding systems. The triggering of these events is hardwired in the corresponding systems. These events are therefore recorded automatically without the developer having to do anything.
Even configured events must be triggered from the application. The call is made by specifying the name.
Events offer the following functionality, among others:
- Localisable text as an indication of the event source
- Subdivision into categories to indicate the area of origin
- Activation/deactivation both at development and runtime
- Integration of process variable values and localizable texts
