Process

Describes the data processing below the recipe server.

A product is manufactured or processed by a machine that is monitored and controlled by a control system (PLC). In order to manufacture a specific product, the PLC requires certain parameters with which individual machine parts are set up or retooled. These parameters are the recipe data. They are stored in variables in the control system. These variables are read from the PLC by a communication component and transferred to the visualisation's variable server. They are then processed there as a recipe.

Note: There are of course other variables in the PLC and therefore in the variable server that exchange various other information. These are further processed in the alarm server or trend server, for example.

From the recipe server's point of view, the entire area from variable server to machine is referred to as a process. PLC and machine are used here as synonyms for data processing systems outside the EASY UI Designer process visualisation.
