Unit class (process)

Refers to a variable-dependent conversion formula. When the value of the variable changes, the corresponding equation of the unit class is used to convert the process variable value during data exchange between the variable server and the communication component.

This conversion is particularly useful if machine parts are to be replaced without adapting the PLC program (e.g. replacing rollers with different radii and displaying the running speed in the visualisation).
