Structural element
Structure elements define the memory cells of a structure definition. The most important information is the data type and the offset within the structure.
Structural elements include the following functionality:
- Substructuring with the help of the data type
- Access to data fields
- Language or variable value-dependent conversion of process variable values(unit classes)
Parameters
| Name | Description of the |
|---|---|
| Data type | Determines the structure and length of the process variable value. |
| Unit class (display) | Reference to a language or variable-dependent conversion. |
| Unit class (process) | Reference to a variable-dependent conversion. |
| Replacement value | Value that is passed on instead of the true process value |
| Field size | Number of process variables for block-based access. |
| Variable options | Bit-coded settings for the process variable |
| Comment | Optional commentary on the object. |
| Maximum value settings | Optional: Upper limit value (constant or variable) that the process variable may assume for a user input. |
| Minimum value settings | Optional: Lower limit value (constant or variable) that the process variable may assume for a user input. |
| Name | Name of the object. |
| Serial number | Byte offset or sequence number of the element in the structure memory area |
| Text | Localisable text for the object. |
