Substitution

Specifies the value that is transferred in the cases described by the substitution value mode parameter instead of the real process variable value.

The replacement value can be used in various scenarios:

• If the replacement value is entered in a process variable at the start, a variable initialisation can be implemented.

• If the connection to the PLC is interrupted, a corresponding substitute value can signal an error.

• If the substitute value is sent when the application is terminated, the PLC can react accordingly.
