Array size

Number of data cells of the defined data type.

The field size enables block-by-block access to a memory area that contains a sequence of data of the same type. The default value specified in the field size parameter is 0, i.e. a single process variable is requested. Values >0 define access to a data field. References to an element of a data field are defined in VisiWin according to the following syntax:

Communication channel name.VariableName.<[element]>

Example: The first element of the process variable arr0 (field size = 5) in the communication channel Ch1 is to be displayed in a VarOut control element:

The property page of the VariableName property allows you to select this process variable. The following variable identifier is transferred to the property as a value:

Ch1.arr0.<[0]>

Access to field elements is 0-indexed (i.e. the first field has index 0).

Field indices are shown in square brackets.

VisiWin-specific variable identifiers are enclosed in angle brackets (see also Syntax for accessing variables).
