Data is transferred between the communication component and the PLC (default setting).

There is no data transfer between the communication component and the PLC. The variables of the channel are treated like internal variables and remain in the variable server.

Deactivating is helpful in the following cases, for example, when developing or testing an application:

  • The communication component is not installed on the development computer.
  • The development computer has no connection to the PLC.
  • The data from the PLC would interfere with troubleshooting in the application.

This parameter must not be confused with the parameters Definition active and Active at runtime.
