Type
The type is used to define the function of all monitoring configured in the group.
| Type | Description of the |
|---|---|
| <no function> |
No monitoring can be configured in the group. However, it is possible to add further subgroups whose type indicates a function. A group with the type <no function> is only used to structure the definitions. |
| Area monitoring |
A variable is monitored. Up to 6 limits can be specified; if these are exceeded by the variable value, a bit of a variable defined as an output variable is set. In range monitoring, the limits divide the value range of the monitoring variable into a normal range and up to 6 monitoring ranges. In the normal range (between limit L/H), no bit is set in the output variable. Outside this range, the corresponding bit assigned to the range is set. Note: Only one bit is active at a time.

| Limit value monitoring |
A variable is monitored. Up to 6 limits can be specified. In limit value monitoring, the 6 limits are checked individually. If the variable value to be monitored is higher/lower than an upper/lower limit, the corresponding bit is set in the output variable. Note: Several bits can therefore be active at the same time.
