Repeat connection attempts after initialisation phase
Specifies that if the connection to the OPC/OPC UA server cannot be established during the initialisation phase (e.g. due to an increased network or OPC/OPC UA server load, OPC/OPC UA server not yet available or ready), the variable server should attempt to establish contact with the OPC/OPC UA server cyclically afterwards.
The cycle for a retry is 10 seconds by default and can be set in the VisiWin 7 Server Manager under Configuration: Project Server > Communication Channels > Auto Restart Delay.
For each unsuccessful attempt, corresponding error information is entered in the log file of the VWE Manager (VWEManager.log). If the OPC/OPC UA server is finally reached, the variables are registered once with the OPC/OPC UA server.
For versions up to and including 2021-1, activating the parameter included both:
-
the cyclical attempt to establish a connection to the OPC/OPC UA server and, after a successful connection, the registration of the variables in the OPC/OPC UA server
-
if it is determined that some variables do not yet exist in the OPC/OPC UA server, the cyclical attempt to register these variables.
If you had activated this parameter in your project up to version 2021-1 and want to retain the previous behaviour (1. and 2.), you must also manually activate the parameter Reconnect unavailable variables after initialisation phase, which has been newly introduced from version 2021-2, if this is not done automatically by converting the project to version 2021-2.
