Communication channel (OPC)
After defining the channel, you can configure the channel to determine its behaviour.
To configure a channel, click on the channel name in the project explorer. The parameters are displayed in the Property pages window.
Parameters
| Name | Description of the |
|---|---|
| Descriptionof the | Specifies a descriptive text for the communication component. |
| Browser | Defines the component for transferring variable information. |
| Browser properties | Defines the settings for the browser. |
| Byte swap | Optional data conversion when accessing structures as a byte stream. |
| Read data directly from the hardware | Determines the data source for synchronous reading. |
| Individual access to field elements | Specifies whether field elements can be accessed individually. |
| Floating point conversion IEEE-S5/S7 | Optional data conversion when accessing structures as a byte stream |
| Comment | Optional commentary on the object. |
| Active communication | Activates communication with the PLC . |
| Communication does not start when the variable server boots up | Suspends communication via the channel until it is reactivated . |
| Saving the configuration in the OPC server project | Defines where the configuration settings of an INOSOFT OPC server are saved . |
| Repeat reading in the event of a reading/writing conflict | Protects against data loss in the event of a read/write conflict in the variable server . |
| Name | Name of the object. |
| Only use data callback interface V1.0 | Access variant to the OPC server interface |
| OPC server has Unicode strings | Optional data conversion when accessing structures as a byte stream |
| OPC server name | Registered name of the OPC server. |
| Do not connect OPC shutdown interface | Determines how the variable server behaves when the OPC server application is terminated. |
| Computer name | Network name of the computer on which the OPC server is installed and from which it is to be started |
| Separator | Separator for the namespaces in the variable editor |
| Start values not read in synchronously | Optional optimisation when starting the project |
| Structure access (OPC) | Decides how process variables of the data type of a structure are to be accessed. |
| Activate variables statically | Determines the data exchange between the variable server and OPC server. |
| Do not accept variable values for OPC Quality BAD | Defines which value is written to the variable server when a variable is transferred from the OPC server whose quality flag is not QUALITY_GOOD. |
| Repeat connection attempts after initialisation phase | Defines whether an attempt is still made to establish a connection to the OPC/OPC UA server after the initialisation phase. |
| VT_BOOL (Boolean) = 1 byte | Optional data conversion when accessing structures as a byte stream |
| VWE generates OPC items (CallR server) | Determines whether the OPC server obtains process variable definitions from the project file as a CallR server . |
| Word exchange VT_I4, VT_UI4 | Optional data conversion when accessing structures as a byte stream |
| Word exchange VT_R4, VT_R8 | Optional data conversion when accessing structures as a byte stream |
