Sub-recipes divide large recipes into smaller sections.
Sub-recipes are used for various reasons:
Subdivision of a large list of variables into smaller, thematically related areas.
A superordinate main recipe summarises these areas. All actions for data transfer must also be carried out via the main recipe. All data is processed as a complete recipe, i.e. all data of the main recipe and all sub-recipes are saved in a file or transferred to the PLC as a complete block.
For this function, the parameter Save sub-recipe class values in this recipe class must be set to
in the definition of the main recipe.
Differentiation of partial products.
A superordinate main recipe then holds these parts together. The actions for data transfer can be carried out individually for the sub-recipes. In particular, saving recipe files for the sub-recipes is a prerequisite for creating a main recipe. References to these sub-recipe files are saved in the main recipe using file name variables.
For the Load and Send actions, the data from the main recipe file is loaded and the data from the referenced sub-recipe files is loaded immediately. The data from the main recipe buffer and the referenced sub-recipe buffers are also processed for the Read and Write actions. Only the saving of recipe files must be carried out individually for the main recipe and all sub-recipes.
For this function, the parameter Save sub-recipe class values in this recipe class must be set to
in the definition of the main recipe.
