Structure of a visualisation

A project is structured hierarchically at »EASY UI Designer«. The AppShell forms the outer framework. It contains views and pages, which in turn contain containers and controls.

AppShell

The AppShell.html file defines the main view of the visualisation. It contains the basic layout of the visualisation, which consists of at least one menu and the AppPageNavigator.

Page

A page is a page that shows the actual content of the visualisation. An example is a diagnostics page for the machine (DiagnosticsPage.html).

View

A view is a specific view that can be used multiple times in the visualisation.

Region

A region is a placeholder for a view. There can be several regions on a page. In the FixLayout templates, a region is used for the header, for example.

Container

Containers are control elements that can hold other control elements. There are containers for the layout and navigation.

Dialogues

Dialogues are pop-up windows that appear on the screen and require user interaction.

Control elements

A control element is normally the smallest graphic unit, such as a button, a value/text input or output, a list or a graphic.
