VisiWin system modules

The VisiWin architecture essentially consists of the server area and the client area. A detailed description of this architecture can be found in the main chapter .

The server processes data and the client makes this data available to the user. To define the data, the server is divided into different system modules. Of course, these modules are also visible in the client. From version 7.3, EASY UI Designer offers two different server technologies. The system modules are largely identical in both technologies. However, the new cross-platform server has been functionally optimised in some areas and enhanced with new functionalities. Some functions have also been solved differently. All differences and availabilities are labelled with the following symbols:

VisiWin is modular, i.e. individual system modules can be selected as required and combined to form an application.

The following VisiWin system modules are available:

Variables

Defines the connection information of the application. Defines which devices are addressed and which data is exchanged and how.

Alarms

Defines the function of individual process variables with regard to alarm functionality. Defines how the individual alarms are displayed and how they are processed by the system and user.

Trends

Determines which process variables are recorded and displayed in X/t or XY graphs.

Language switching

Affects all displayed texts within the application. The multilingual configuration of the texts used allows the language to be switched at runtime without additional effort.

Recipes

Determines which data records from several process variables jointly parameterise a machine function and controls the transfer of this data.

User administration

Defines user groups and rights and sets authorisations for individual functions.

Logging

Records triggered data records, e.g. as a report of batches.

Process data monitoring

Defines limits on analogue process values.
